Hi, thanks for the excellent guide.

Newer versions of Ubuntu, however, uses rsyslog – not syslog.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. Worked perfectly except to restart syslog in ubuntu the command is:

“/etc/init.d/sysklogd restart”
